Nixon Peabody LLP Receives Capital Region Diversity AwardAlbany, NY. Law firm Nixon Peabody LLP is one of five corporations in the capital region to receive the inaugural “Top Five” Spectrum Award: A Celebration of Workplace Diversity from the Capital Region Human Resource Association (CRHRA). The firm was recognized for its commitment to providing creative and innovative strategies that promote diversity in the workplace. 10/12/2007 “It is an honor to be recognized by the Capital Region Human Resource Association and to be chosen to receive the inaugural Top Five Spectrum Award celebrating the importance of diversity in the capital region,” said Andrew C. Rose, managing partner of Nixon Peabody's Albany office. “The firm is dedicated to fostering an open and inclusive work culture that attracts, retains, and promotes employees of a broad range of backgrounds and insures that they are treated equally and with the dignity and respect they deserve.” Nominations for the “Top Five” Spectrum Award were accepted in five different categories: large employer (500 employees or more); mid-size employer (100 to 499 employees), small employer (fewer than 100 employees); nonprofit employer; government/private (nonpublic) employer. Additionally, nominations were based upon the completion of a diversity survey developed exclusively for CRHRA by the College of Saint Rose. To assure objectivity, a committee of college faculty members reviewed all nominations and made the final selections. In an effort to become a national leader in workplace diversity, Nixon Peabody developed the firm's Diversity Initiative, a blueprint for national leadership that is led by the firm's chairman, Harry Trueheart.
